produced that are available for sale here, loosely
themed under the 'Dungeon Life' moniker. Also, You can
find some great physical Gaming Accessories here.
Finally, I have a section showcasing the sculpting side
of things and another with some tips and tricks for
moldmakers and casters.

Miniatures Coinciding
with my discovery of D&D was my discovery of D&D miniatures. The cool
little lead (back then) guys were just neat beyond belief, and I wanted right
away to make my own. Of course, at the time I had no idea HOW to make my own, so
it became an unfulfilled dream for many years. I remember at one point I carved
some MECHANOIDS (from the Palladium game) out of drywall plaster or
something similar. The little guys were incredibly fragile, and have long since
broken into tiny little crumbs, but the fact that I even tried that shows just
how much I wanted to do it. These
days I have managed to learn quite a bit more, and since I now have my own
casting equipment, I can even offer some of my creations to you! |

DUNGEON LIFE is the name of the Dark-Platypus Studio
miniatures line, including Bendy Dungeon Walls and the related terrain and
accessories, and various fantasy-game oriented sculpts. There really isn't much
of a theme here, or a unified game tying it all together. Simply put, these were
by and large figures that I created for my own games -primarily D&D
campaigns, and I thought I'd share them with the world. Odds are if I needed 'em
and thought they were cool, somebody else out there might too! |

I once had the dream of running the entire
climactic final battle in my Fulcrum campaign as a
tabletop miniatures battle. I thought it would take a lot
of room, so I wanted to do it in 15mm scale. Well, my
ambition far outstripped my sculpting speed, and I
finished the campaign (without tabletop battle, alas),
long before I finished my sculpts. Here however, are the
first two I did for the Undead army of Nagas Thool!

More mini's are COMING SOON!!!

Accessories With
the introduction of our Bendy Dungeon Walls dungeon terrain system, I
thought it might be cool to have some other stuff you can throw down into
dungeons too! I'm starting with pillars, but more cool dungeon dressing stuff
will be coming soon. Right now I have them listed in the Bendy
Dungeon Walls page, but as more stuff comes up they'll probably get their
own shiny page!

Greens & Greys Since I started getting into sculpting, I really
like checking out other sculptor's uncast creations, their actual little
sculptures. As such, I thought it might be fun to show some of what my pieces
look like before they get turned into metal bits. Perhaps I'll even do a step-by
step or tutorial at some point, although I am far from what you might call an
expert. Still, I look forward to the journey of getting there, and you can watch
my progress as I post new sculpts here.
The material I have learned to sculpt minis with
is an epoxy putty that comes in blue and yellow parts, which is mixed together
to form a green substance. This material seems to be pretty much prevalent in
use in the sculpting community, and is why original miniature sculpts are
referred to as "Greens", even though sometimes putties of differing
colors are sometimes used. Recently, a new sculpting material known as "ProCreate"
(I know, sounds kinky) has come available on the market. This putty is grey in
color when mixed, and you can see that some of my newest sculpts utilize this
material. So far I really like it, and will probably use it more and more.
Below are some images
of some of the greens I have sculpted to date, with , in general, older sculpts
appearing first, and newer ones populating the list towards the bottom as I add
them. |

Tips & Tricks
As I mentioned above, I am pretty much new to
this whole sculpting thing, but I have been attacking it with some vigor, and
some of the things I've learned, I shall share with you here. Trust me, this is
as much for my benefit as for anyone else's. If you see something here, and you
know a better way...by all means, share! |
